Privacy Policy

The Hopey’s Heart Foundation (the “Foundation”) is committed to protecting the privacy of its website visitors. All information gathered from you in connection with your use of this website (the “Site”) is governed by this Privacy Policy.

Collection of Personal Information
We do not systematically collect names, addresses, phone numbers, e-mail addresses or other personally identifying information (“Personal Information”) of Site users, unless you voluntarily send it to us by making a contribution or requesting additional information about the Foundation.

The Foundation collects donations via the Site through PayPal. When you make an online donation to the Foundation, you will be directed to the PayPal website, and you will be asked to provide Personal Information to complete the transaction. At this point, you will be governed by PayPal’s privacy policy, not this Privacy Policy.  (Similarly, the Site may contain links to other third party sites, for example, with information about AED’s and heart health care. The privacy policies of those sites will govern your use of those sites.)

Use and Sharing of Personal Information
The Foundation may have access to any Personal Information you provide to Pay Pal such as your name, address and email address so that we can acknowledge your contribution and send you additional information about the Foundation’s activities and solicitation campaigns. Pay Pal will never share your credit card information with us. We do not sell, rent or otherwise distribute the Personal Information we receive from PayPal or that you otherwise provide us, but we might share it with trusted organizations which assist the Foundation in achieving its mission. For example, the company that manages our website may have access to certain Personal Information.   We may also share the information with organizations such as the WNBA or a WNBA team that assist us in our fundraising efforts.   Under all circumstances, however, these third parties would be required to maintain the confidentiality and security of any Personal Information provided to them in the course of their performing services for the Foundation.  We also may disclose Personal Information if we believe in good faith that we are required to do so in order to comply with applicable law, a subpoena, or other legal process.

Cookies & Google Analytics
Like most web sites, this Site uses “cookies.” A “cookie” is a text file, invoked by standard browser software, that we place on your hard drive to enable our systems to, among other things, understand how people are using our Site. We may also automatically receive and store certain other types of information, such as the type of web browser you use or the pages you link to from the Site.  You may set your browser to refuse to accept cookies.

We may use Google Analytics to better understand how to service users of our Site. Google Analytics requires that we temporarily store information on your machine, which Google uses to track how you use the Site. Through this tool, Google is able to generate aggregate statistics about our users as a group. This aggregate information is not linked to any Personal Information.  Google Analytics uses “cookies”, which are text files placed on your computer, to help us analyze how users use our Site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of our Site (including your IP address) will be transmitted to and stored by Google. Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of our Site, compiling reports on website activity for website operators and providing other services relating to website activity and internet usage. Google may also transfer this information to third parties where required to do so by law, or where such third parties process the information on Google’s behalf. You may refuse the use of these cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser. By using this website, you consent to the processing of data about you by Google in the manner and for the purposes set out above.
